Weekly Tip: Keep Track of Your Credit Card Rewards

You may have a rewards credit card, but are you using those rewards?
According to a survey conducted by Princeton Survey Research Associates International, 73% of Americans who are enrolled in rewards programs have no idea how many points they have. In addition, some of those people rarely or never redeem their credit card rewards.
This is a lot of money going to waste. Rewards programs allow cardholders to earn cash back, free flights, hotel stays, merchandise, gas rebates, or even entertainment. This can add up to be a lot of money, especially if you use your rewards credit cards often. So why aren’t people using their points? It’s simple: people don’t keep track of their rewards. Many consumers forget about their points. Others use one credit card more than others. They may overlook the points and rewards from the cards they do not use as often.  In addition, some rewards have expiration dates. If consumers continue to wait, they may lose the rewards they have or their rewards may be worth less than what they originally were.
So, it is important to keep track of your credit card points. Without doing so, you may end up with no rewards or devalued points and miles. Reap the benefits of using a rewards credit card by monitoring your rewards!
