Weekly Tip: Carry only the credit cards you need.

If you have a lot of credit cards, you probably have them in your wallet. It’s easy to keep them all in one safe place, but is it the best place for safekeeping?

Although that may seem like the easiest place, the answer is no.

It is important to carry only the credit cards you need at any given moment in the case of loss or identity theft. From technological hackings to small pickpockets, identity theft is a growing concern in today’s world. And everyone loses their cards from time to time. So, it’s a good idea to carry only the cards you will need for that day. In that case, if you do fall victim to fraud or happen to lose your wallet, you won’t have to worry about not having any money available to you. You’ll be able to deal with your credit card and install fraud protections in the proper way, but you will still have money at your disposal, and your credit score will not take a huge hit. You don’t want to keep all of your cards on your person at all times, so it’s time to start leaving some cards at home in a safe place.
