New Citi ThankYou® Preferred Rewards Card Offer Ups the Bonus Offer

(Update: The below offers may have changed since time of publication. For complete offer details, check out Creditnet.com's updated list of available Citibank credit cards.)

Yesterday, Citi announced that they would be upping their ThankYou® Preferred bonus offer from 15,000 bonus ThankYou® points to 20,000. The catch is that in order to qualify for the bonus points - which according to Citi is the equivalent of $200 in gift cards or other great rewards - new cardholders must now make $1,500 in purchases within 3 months of account opening to qualify. That's up $500 from the previous offer over the same amount of time.

The new bonus offer wasn't the only change to the Citi ThankYou® Preferred Rewards Card. Now, members can earn 2x points on purchases for dining and entertainment, and 1 point on other purchases. Previously there were no bonus points categories for members to take advantage of.

2x points on dining and entertainment also applied to the standard Citi ThankYou® Card, and points are unlimited and don't expire no matter which offer you choose to apply for.
