Citi ThankYou® Preferred Rewards Card is now offering a 12 month 0% intro period

It used to be that the one problem we had with the Citi ThankYou® Preferred Rewards Card is that it didn't offer a zero percent intro period on new purchases or balance transfers. As of yesterday, that all changed.

Citi announced that the ThankYou® Preferred Rewards Card would now come with a 12 month introductory period that includes 0% interest on both purchases and balance transfers. This is a HUGE upgrade to this credit card, since it now combines the rewards of a cash back card with the savings of a balance transfer card.

Previously, consumers had a choice to make when determining whether they wanted a zero interest card or a cash back bonus offer. Now they can get the best of both worlds - 20,000 bonus points when they spend $1,500 in the first three months PLUS pay no interest for 12 billing cycles. (Updated July 29, 2013.)

This is welcome news for consumers in the market for a new cash back credit cards with zero interest on new purchases.
